Pop of Paradise Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest - Tami White
10:00:00 AMWe have some incredible projects to show you today. What we are MOST excited about is having the talented Tami White from Massachusetts, USA hopping along with us. We have met Tami a few times - she is just awesome.
In 2013, Tami became the 4th person to sell $1million dollars of products. And, so she was treated to a special visit to the Stampin' Up! home office.
Seriously, watching that gives me goosebumps. As a part of the incentive trip in 2013, Kylie and I walked into that main entry way to a similar reception and we have very fond memories of that. Here is a link to the video of when we walked in too.
Tami is very active on social media and has a cool Periscope channel so make sure you sign up for that.
On with the show....
Inspiration
So, not only are we hopping with Tami, but the theme for the hop is 'Case-ing Tami White.' There are a number of ways to interpret CASE.- CASE - Copy and Share Everything (or with Everybody)
- CASE - Copy and Selectively Edit
The second definition is the one that I like and am using for the the card today.
Here is the card of Tami's that I am CASE-ing
The main thing Im CASE'ing is the layout.
My Card
Here is the card I ended up with;
This is the second time I have made a card using the Pop of Paradise set. I actually got the inspiration for the colours by visiting K-Mart this afternoon and saw their window display.
There is a lot about this image that I like so I plan to use it as inspiration for another project.
I like the wall colour so I started with a base of Island Indigo. What I also really liked on this image was the blue on cream picture hanging on the wall. So, I started with a Very Vanilla piece of card stock and stamped some images using Island Indigo. I then stamped some more images using Old Olive.
The shape of the image on the wall in K-Mart really reminded me of one of the framelits in the Botanical Builder Framelit kit. So, I cut out a few of these in Island Indigo. Looking at the inspiration image from Tami, I noticed that the butterflies had been cut out and then inlaid in a different colour. So, I cut out the same shape on the stamped image and inlaid the framelit cut outs within the negative space. Make sense?
I mounted this piece on a Old Olive and then mounted that onto the stripe piece from the Regals Designer Series paper stack. I then mounted this to the base using (my fave) Foam Adhesive Strips.
Finally, Kylie suggested I use a framelit from the Gift Card Thinlits set. The sentiment is from the Pop of Paradise set.
