Thanks so much for stopping by today. Today, I'm having a part in the blog hop with the Stamp Review Crew once again. This is a group of stamping enthusiasts - each blog hop features ONE STAMP SET, thus showing how versatile that particular set it.

As the title suggests, there are just two more days until you can order from the new 2017 Occasions Catalogue. I cant wait until you can get your hands on these.

Since the last blog hop, Kylie and I (and our two pooches Jasper and Bella) have moved house. But, we are all in now, so on with the show....

Today, the hop revolves around a stamp set called 'Swirly Bird.'


It's a great stamp set. It is designed with fun in mind. This stamp set is sure to help you unlock your creative potential! Mix and match the fun and bold designs to make your cards into artwork. As you travel around all of the blogs on this hop. you will see all of the different possibilities.

My Project

While there are definite possibilities to use lots of swirls etc., today, I focused on displaying how this set can be used using the smaller stamps to create a masculine card. Here is what I ended up with;


The swirly bird stamp set comes with a coordinating framelit kit, which is awesome. I cut the background framelit in both Chocolate Chip and Pool Party to create a shadow effect.


I stamped three of the small images from the set in Chocolate Chip and then stamped the wave in Pool Party.

I used some designer series paper from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalogue called 'Tasty Treats'. Finally, the sentiment is from the 'Chase Your Dreams' stamp set, also available from the new 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

We have some incredible projects to show you today. What we are MOST excited about is having the talented Lisa Curcio from the US hopping along with us. We first met Lisa and her husband Bob in Hawaii in 2015 and then again in Europe in 2016.


This picture was taken onboard the Norwegian Epic somewhere in the Mediterranean with Lisa, Bob and their daughter Gina. We look forward to seeing them again in Thailand.

Inspiration

So, not only are we hopping with Lisa, but the theme for the hop is 'Case-ing Lisa Curcio.'

This is the card I am Case-ing;


It is mainly the layout of the card that I am case-ing. Here is the card that I ended up with;


Have you received the new 2017 Catalogue yet? The stamp set I used is found in the catalogue - its called Cool Treats and has a matching framelit kit.

Using three different coloured Ombre ink pads I stamped the ice-cream. I then stamped the top layer of the ice-cream using black and then cut out the top part of the ice-cream using the coordinating framelit.


For the cone, I used the coordinating coloured card stock for the top layer and then crumb cake underneath. I then mounted the cones onto the 'strip' layer using dimensionals. I used foam adhesive strips for the ice cream part (these are higher).

I LOVE this sentiment. I love the font. I love it! I stamped it on white and used scissors to cut.

Back to the post ...... today, the hop revolves around a stamp set called 'Picture Perfect.'

This is a really cool set. As you can see above, there are some multi-step stamping. The decription on the website calls it two-step stamping. But, more accurately, its three-step and four-step stamping for some of these images. If this isnt in your collection already, click on the image above and buy it now.

My Project

Here is my project for today.


I really like the bird stamp in this set. I used just one colour in the stamping today - Sahara Sand. But, even still, you can see the shading in the image. I really like the effect of using the same colour on multi-step stamping.



Today's card was quite simple. I'd love to see your version of this card using different paper and different colours.
