Thank you so much for joining me on my blog today and joining us today for our Crazy Crafters Blog hop! Here is a picture of some of the Crazy Crafters on the weekend.
We have some incredible projects to show you today. What we are MOST excited about is having the talented Brian King hopping along with us. I first heard about Brian in 2013. We attended the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brian received recognition as achieving 'Rising Star' and was the first male to ever do it. Awesome Achievement! Here is a highlights video from that year;
The video goes for 5 minutes with lots of familiar faces (the first 2 minutes you might forward through). Brian appears 2:48 in a group and then at 3:45, Brian receives the award from Shelli. Oh, and make sure you watch till at least 4:33. Hahahahah!
Kylie and I have met Brian in person a few times whilst on Stampin' Up! incentive trips. This picture is typical of what we have come to expect from Brian.
This picture was taken in Hawaii at the Polynesian Cultural Centre. And, in case you didn't know, Brian is the photo-bomber right at the back (the other one is Bob Curcio, husband of Lisa Curcio). Anyway, on with the show......
Inspiration
The theme of this Blog Hop is 'Case the Designer ..... BRIAN KING!' Here is the card of his that I have chosen to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit);
This was a colour challenge that Brian entered, so I thought it would be V. important for me to use the same colours.
My Card
Here is the card I ended up with;
I had the idea in my head that rather than using solid colour blocks that I would use a rectangular stamp and repeat it over and over to create the same effect that Brian created on the original card.
I used the same layout that Brian used and just changed up some colours and elements.
The stamp set used is the Perfect Pennants. This has matching framelits. And, before you ask, YES, I stamped each pennant and then cut each one out using the pennant framelit. Ill freely admit that I wasn't a fan of the colours to begin with - but as I was working with them, I REALLY REALLY like them together.
I added two candy dots in Melon Mambo along with a few banner/pennant layers. The Mossy Meadow banner was made using the triple banner punch.
What do you think?

ReplyDeleteThat's a tricky colour combo, but both Brian and yourself pulled it off to perfection-love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd hello to you too! Love your case of Brian's card. Looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love those colours together too Bruno and I love that you used a sentiment and teamed them with Kraft - very stylish! I am a little disappointed that you didn't pop all the banners up on dimensionals though! Lol! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove the card, not enough dimensionals though. Lol

ReplyDeleteyou would make a great bricklayer too after seeing this card! Great case BB!
ReplyDeleteSo clever, Bruno! And what a lot of work to stamp and die cut all those little pennants! I've cased one of your cards for a challenge by my upline, Lisa Pretto, and I think I may have to case this card, too. It's brilliant!
ReplyDeleteFirst things first - minute 4:33 is the highlight of my entire Stampin' Up! experience. Thanks for sharing, Bruno! :) This card is fantastic! The amount of work it must have taken to stamp and crop all these flags. Just perfect. I am thrilled to hop along with you and your team today! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card!! Love the CASE. Now I'm gonna go CASE YOU! Thanks for the video, too. I shudder to think what happens when you are all together..... ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your stamped version of this card, Bruno!!
