Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek International Blog Hop

6:00:00 AM

Whatever the time is, wherever you are reading this - thank you so much for stopping by! Today - I have a very special post for you.....

If you have been receiving my posts for a while, you will know that I enjoy doing blog hops - I enjoy running with a theme and seeing what others come up with.

But this hop is with some extraordinarily talented demonstrators from around the world. You might be starting off here in Australia. Or, you may have just come from Lynsay Mahon from Canada. How awesome was her project? The idea is to 'hop' around all of the projects - there is a list of participants at the bottom of the post. So, go make yourself a coffee and come back and enjoy.....

Seriously, if you have been waiting to get a good look at the catalogue - THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! Some of the demonstrators went to OnStage events in different locations and received some different stamp sets so this hop is the best place online to get a proper sneak peek.

Todays Theme - 2016/17 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Ive had the catalogue in my hands for a few weeks now. Ive shared this picture before but here it is again...

This is my catalogue (not Kylie) - and the tags are legit! They are colour coded;
  • Pink - Premiere Purchase Preorder
  • Orange - Pre-Order
  • Yellow - Pre-Order (Sale-a-Bration freebies)
  • Blue - First Order
  • Purple - Second Order
Its been a few years that I succumbed to looking at the catalogue. And, Im not kidding when I say that this catalogue has more products in it that I want than ever before. You are going to LOVE it!!! If you haven't already done so, make sure you register to receive a copy. Unfortunately, none of the products I used today are available for you to purchase until June. But, register for a catalogue now and we will let you know everything you need to get the products as soon as possible.

My Featured Products

One of my favourite products from the recent Occasions/Spring Summer Catalogue was the Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper. Sadly, this has now retired (however, it is still available to purchase). But, I think something even cooler has been released - its a new paper range called Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper. Rather than using Kraft, the base of the paper is Crumb Cake.

Can you see the copper shimmering on the first two sheets? The sheet that I am featuring today is the 4th sheet which I think looks like the official floral emblem of Australia - the Wattle. What do you think?

The stamp set I am featuring is a COOL COOL set called Pun Intended. You are going to LOVE this set.

So, since the paper I am using is featuring the wattle, I decided to feature the Bee stamp.

My Project

Here is the card I ended up with;

I stamped on watercolour paper with black archival and clear embossed the image a few times. I wanted to highlight the bees, so I just added a bit of colour. I then did my least favourite thing and 'fussy-cut' the bees. I did the same thing on Vellum and fussy cut those as well. I then mounted the bees on the DSP.

Using two colours drawn from the DSP (Cucumber Crush and Daffodil Delight), I framed the bees in a strip. Do you notice how neatly the top two layers are mounted? This is because I used Foam Adhesive Strips which are available in the new catalogue. These are simply AWESOME! You are going to love them.

I used a sentiment from this set as well and punched it out and mounted with some gold string.

What do you think?

  7. I LOVE this card! I have a confession... I have never liked crumb cake as a color. With this card (and with so many others that you have made) You make it look so good, though that I might have to give it and this DSP a try! Thanks for the inspiration!
