This is a group of stamping enthusiasts - each blog hop features ONE STAMP SET, thus showing how versatile that particular set it. Want to know more about me? Click here to find out.
Today, the hop revolves around a stamp set called 'Blended Bloom.' This is what the stamp looks like;
Today's Project
Ill admit - I wasn't really super-excited by this stamp set. And, I didn't have a plan before I started making it. So, I kept going - and Im quite excited by the result - what do you think?Probably the item that I am saddest about retiring is the Burlap. If you look over my cards, you will see Burlap as a recurring theme. Granted, there is a new style burlap in the new catalogue, and I know I will love it..... I cut the Burlap in half and frayed the edges to give an even more rustic look
I white embossed the image four times on Kraft and then 'fussy-cut' various elements of the flower and stacked on top. I wanted to highlight the top element a bit more, so I white embossed on black instead.
To give a bit more depth, using the bone folder, I folded up the edges of the petals on the flower. The sentiment is from Picture Perfect stamp set and I cut it out using a framelit from the Gift Card and Envelope and Trims Thinlits set (good news - BOTH of these items are NOT retiring).
I really appreciate you stopping by today. Want to make sure you don't miss any of my posts? Click here to receive them by email.

ReplyDeleteYou must have heard me say "Oh, wow!" from Wisconsin when I saw your card. What a masterpiece! I knew I would subscribe when I CASEd a card of yours earlier this year; I'm only sorry I didn't do it sooner.

ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE this card! Beautiful, yet so neutral it could be used for a man. You really did a superb job on this one!
ReplyDeleteVery "out of the box" way to showcase this stamp. I really like the white on Kraft and I'm with you on the Burlap ribbon - sad to see it retire. It looks great under your sentiment banner. Thanks for the different take of this flower, I really like it!
