2013 Stampin' Up! Grand Holiday - MDS Photobook Layout 5 | Stampin' Up Convention

5:18:00 PM

Next, we arrived at Salt Lake City. The main event in Salt Lake City was the Stampin Up Convention. It was VERY exciting.

Here are pages 8 and 9. They are designed as a double page spread, so here they are;

We too ALOT of pictures and there is ALOT of information to cover from the convention. If you are interested in seeing all of the photos from the convention, here is the set on our Flickr account.

Page 8 - Left Page

  • Template - I started from a template in the 'Downtown Grunge.' The template has a different background and has just the one photo border with the staples in the photo border.
  • Background Colour - I did a colour sample from one of the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper sheets. It is closest to 'Tangerine Tango.'
  • Photos - the long photo was a panorama shot. So, I enlarged it so that it covers both pages. As mentioned above, the main photo was a part of the 'Downtown Grunge' template.
  • Font - I downloaded the font called 'Travelling_Typewriter.' The colour of the font is white.
  • Small Photos - I used the punch tool and inserted 6 of the 1.25 square punches. I selected each of the punches and used the 'Photo Fill' function on the right of the screen under punches. For the punch on the bottom right, I used the 'Paper Fill' function on the right of the screen under punches. The sheet selected is from the 'Sycamore Street' Designer Series Paper range.
  • Panorama Border - I wanted to have a white border above and below the photo. I inserted a punch and modified the shape of the punch by selecting the punch and using the grips and made it into the shape I wanted.

  • Template - I started from a template in the 'Downtown Grunge.' The template has a different background and has just three photos in the middle of the page.
  • Background - This is a photo that I took at convention. I inserted into page and then right-clicked and clicked on 'Set Photo as Background.'
  • Photos - the long photo was a panorama shot. So, I enlarged it so that it covers both pages. As mentioned above, the main three photos were a part of the 'Downtown Grunge' template.
  • Panorama Border - I wanted to have a white border above and below the photo. I inserted a punch and modified the shape of the punch by selecting the punch and using the grips and made it into the shape I wanted.
  • Embellishments - The '2013' is from the Rise and Shine Set. I scanned the nametag and the lanyard and inserted as a part of the layout. I opened the file in Photoshop and trimmed out all of the white from the images. I saved the file as a 'png' which allows transparency.
