2016/2017 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue | International Blog Hop

6:00:00 AM

Whatever the time is, wherever you are reading this - thank you so much for stopping by! Today - I have a very special post for you.....

If you have been receiving my posts for a while, you will know that I enjoy doing blog hops - I enjoy running with a theme and seeing what others come up with.

But this hop is with some extraordinarily talented demonstrators from around the world. You might be starting off here in Australia. Or, you may have just come from Nicole Tugrul from US. How awesome was her project? The idea is to 'hop' around all of the projects - there is a list of participants at the bottom of the post. So, go make yourself a coffee and come back and enjoy.....

My Featured Products

Today, since the theme of the Blog Hop is 2016/2017 Annual Catalogue, I am using two stamp sets from the new catalogue - Pop of Paradise and Scenic Sayings.

My Project

Here is the card I ended up with (I must apologise for the photos - our camera was damaged on our trip so this is our back-up camera. We are waiting for word on whether insurance will cover our camera);

I will be the first to admit that I am surprised I used both the stamp set and Flirty Flamingo. But, it was just one of those things that I had in my head.....the idea is that the Flamingo is standing on a wire.

I used some Washi tape and masked the legs so that I could make them black and did the reverse to create the pink body. I used the stamp-a-majig to make sure it was lined up.

Don't you love the effect of the sentiment? I put the top part in Flirty Flamingo and then the bottom part in Night of Navy. Gives a really nice look. I then used a Circle Punch (sorry, I can't remember which one) to cut out the sentiment. I mounted this using dimensionals.

Its a little difficult to see, but I used a Wink of Stella on the Flirty Flamingo body. It gives such a nice finish. I then fussy-cut the flamingo out and mounted using dimensionals onto the white layer. This layer was then mounted on the Flirty Flamingo layer using dimensionals. I then glued (using Tomboy) the FF layer to the Night of Navy layer. This layer was then mounted to the white layer using the AMAZING foam adhesive strips which was then stuck down with Tomboy glue.

A simple and EASILY replicable card.
