Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop | Botanical Blooms

11:00:00 AM

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Today, I'm having a part in the blog hop with the Stamp Review Crew once again. This is a group of stamping enthusiasts - each blog hop features ONE STAMP SET, thus showing how versatile that particular set it. Have you just arrived here from Bronwyn Eastley? If so - thanks for visiting!

Today, the hop revolves around a stamp set called 'Botanical Blooms.' It is an awesome set with a matching set of framelits.

This set is fantastic! This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set. Combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want and comes as a set of SEVENTEEN Photopolymer stamps for just $30 (Australia). As you travel around this hop, you will see some AMAZING uses for this set.

My Card

Did you go to and OnStage event in May this year? If you did, one of the presenters from the Stampin' Up! home office showed a 'Magic Card.' I was ..... without speech. Then she explained how to make it, my eyes started glazing over and I thought 'Too hard.' Then, I saw she posted a video...

After watching it, I really wanted to give it a try. So, I did! And, here is the result;

I saw the sentiment in the 'Better Together' set and thought it would be perfect for this card. So, I want to send it to a bereaved friend of ours. Here is part 2 of the card;

So, as you lift the card, the coloured images appear. Here is a short video I made (thanks to my lovely hand model Kylie).

How did I make it? Watch the video. LOL! There is too much to explain.

But, here are two photos that might explain a bit better;

The 'skeleton' images are stamped using Stazon onto a window sheet and the 'coloured' images are stamped onto a sheet of white card stock and fixed only at the top. The colours used are Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate. The DSP on the front frame is from the Pop of Pink specialty DSP stack. And, the base of the card is Smoky Slate.

This element is then placed with the window sheet on one side of a white sheet of card and the coloured images on the other. I have to say that the 'Magic card' was a lot easier to make than I expected.

So, why a bereavement card? When we think about the person we have lost, we often have memories that make us sad. But, thats only part of the picture. Make sense?
