Thailand Achievers Blog Hop | My Favourite Things | In The City
7:00:00 AM
Good morning, good afternoon or good evening - whatever time it is where you are I want to say thanks so much for stopping by and joining us this month for our Thailand Achievers Blog-Hop. The Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world involved in this hop achieved the 160,000 Flex Points required to redeem the Thailand Grand Vacation in 2017. And, my amazing wife Kylie Bertucci was one of those. So, technically, I am not an 'achiever.' However, I am a Supporting Stampin' Up! Demonstrator makes me a 'co-achiever.' In less than a month, we will be here
Stampin' Up! has booked out the ENTIRE resort for trip achievers from all around the world. We haven't booked anything to do on this trip as we just need time to ...... relax and unwind. If we feel like doing anything on the day, we might do that.
The theme of this hop is ...... drumroll ......
2017/2018 New Catalogue - My Favourite Things!!!!
When I first opened the catalogue, this was the FIRST product that I wanted. In my other life, I am an architect. So, this seemed to be a meshing of my worlds - I love it!
This is a cool set called In the City. This is a Host Set so its not available for general purchase, but redeemed through host rewards. But, you will LOVE it! You MUST get this. This is a cool 2- or 3-step stamp set. I had SOOOO much fun with this. I started stamping buildings in all different colours and I kept going ..... and going .... and LOVED it!

When making this card, I had an inspiration image......
We have been to Italy but sadly this isnt a place we went to, but hopefully one year we get there (Stampin' Up! - if you are reading this, we would love to go here during an incentive trip). So, from this image, I wanted to use different colours, different heights, different levels. And, this is the card I ended up with;
I made this card for our friends that kindly allowed us to stay with them in London. I had ALOT of fun making this card. Added to that, I used some colours that I don't recall EVER using (Wild Wasabi).
Its a photopolymer set, so lining up the coloured portion of the stamp with the outline portion of the stamp is easy. And, as you will see, there are some of the buildings that are misaligned - I call it a 'design feature!'
I used a heap of scrap pieces of white card stock I had lying around and stamped buildings in different colours. I then 'fussy cut' and stuck them down using dimensionals on a piece of paper from the Colour Theory Designer Series Paper stack.
To cover some of the empty spots, I stamped some cars and trees and stuck them down.
I had an enjoyable time making this card. Do you have this set yet? If not, you MUST get it. It is not available to purchase, but valued at $47, it can be earned for less. If you live in Australia, click here to ask us how.....
