Global Design Project - #GDP003 Hello Baby | NEW BLOG LAUNCH

10:26:00 AM

WELCOME!

This post is special for two reasons;

  1. I'm happy to be involved in the Global Design Challenge again
  2. Im posting this on my BRAND NEW blog! I have posted on Kylie's Blog many times, but i finally decided to make my own Stampin' Up! blog. So, before you read on, click here and make sure you subscribe via email so you don't miss any of my projects. I have transferred all of my old projects that have appeared on Kylie's blog. Some of them make me laugh and they will make you laugh too. And, I'm in the process of changing them from the third person to the first person.
OK, back to what this post is about - the Global Design Project. This weeks theme is 'HELLO BABY!'

And, here is the card I made.

I sat down with a vision ..... and the final product was not too far from what it ended up like.

Elements

  • Base

I have never tried the Aqua Pen before. Like never. I saw Brandy demonstrating it somewhere at convention or online and i thought that it looked cool (and easy). But, not until today did I try it.

But, before I used the Aqua Pen, I embossed the Watercolour paper with clear. Its just the amount of colour that I wanted. I really like the 'Brushstrokes Background' stamp set that I used to emboss the image. It it 'rustic' enough to allow more of the colour to reach the paper.

  • Sentiment

Mint Macaron is my favourite (EVER) colour. So, that had to be the star. I love the 'Layered Letters' lettering and have wanted to use it for ages. So, this was a great opportunity. I embossed the 'BABY' in white.

The triple banner punch was a nice way of using layers in a simple and effective way.

  • Embellishments

I'll be honest - Im not a fan of embellishments. But, it needed something (or a couple of things) to balance it out. I think the result was really effective. The tiny little bird is from the 'MADE WITH LOVE' stamp set. And, lots of cards lately have had the silver string which is subtle but effective.
